Low Cost Web Sites from £99!
If you’re looking for a good looking, professional, custom designed web site then look no further.
I used Low Cost Web Sites by Jacamar to make my Sarah’s Fleeces shopping site and I have to say they’ve done an out standing job.
It looks clean, fresh and is simple and easy to use.
How does it work?
- Start off by going to their site www.low-cost-web-sites.co.uk,

- In the ‘Starter web site’ box click on the ‘More Info’ link,
- In the ‘Page Styles’ box click on ‘View Styles Collection’,
- Select from the range of templates,
- Contact Jacamar and they’ll take it from there.
Couldn’t be easier!
What are Jacamar like?
I found Jacamar very easy to work with. They are friendly, easy going and made getting the site together a pleasure rather than a hassle. I had lots of ideas about how I wanted the site to look and work and we encorporated them into the final design.
I knew pretty much what wording I wanted too but Jacamar are brimming with good ideas to do with advertising and marketing so together we worked out the best ways of writing things.
I also wanted a basket on my site so that customers can buy direct through the site. This was also encorporated in the design. Read all about this side of the intergration in this post.
Is it for me?
Whether you are a techy bod yourself or a complete novice to the world of web sites, whether you are a one person business looking to invest in your first decent site or a well established large company needing to re-vamp your current site or join the online world of shopping Jacamar are well equipped to provide the business solution that’s tailored to meet your needs.

My basket – Commerce cgi
Having trawled the net for solutions to the ‘how do I get a basket on here for free’ and ones that I could integrate myself (being a software engineer) I settled on one provided by Commerce.cgi.
This is a great tool written in perl but it’s very compatible with PCs too.
I didn’t find it terribly easy to get it working initially, as even though I’ve got a fair amount of experience now it’s not vast amounts, but having sorted that bit the rest was pretty straightforward. It took the best part of 4 months working part time from home to get the site technically ready for going live.
I chose to use PayPal as it’s basket facility as it’s so well known, used and trusted. This side of it was fairly straight forward, I’ll definitely use it again.
If you’ve got any questions about this software ask away…
